We started the day with gelato and a walk across Ponte Vecchio. A beautiful day.
Behind the Palazzo Pitti (big museum now) are the Boboli gardens where we decided to spend the day. You need to walk through the palace to get to the gardens. There were a series of carved lions under each of the outer windows of the palace. Everyone has a different expression. I love these dudes.
The gardens are ginormous, going up and down hills. There are statues all over the place. It's great because there aren't that many people at the gardens compared to the city.
As you climb the gardens, you get really great views of the city.
We came back and had a drink on our terrace.
Later we had dinner on the river with a lovely sunset.
