We had a fairly easy day going from Milano to Venezia. We took the high speed train again. Fun watching the countryside as we went.
Because it had been so long since I had been in Venice (25 years and then 40 years before that) we had a water taxi service meet us at the train station, get us to our water taxi, and then to our hotel. Easy peasy. On the water in Venice getting to our hotel was glorious!
This next photo shows the dock closest to our hotel. The white hotel under San Marco bell tower is one I stayed at 40 years ago. It was dirt cheap then. Could never afford to stay there now.
Our hotel is one block down from the dock, so a good location. After a drink on the hotel's terrace, we walked San Marco square.
Had a great view from an outside table at our dinner restaurant.
So glad to be in Venice. It is stunning!
